We're New Zealanders. We not particularly competitive - we're more than happy to come 3rd or 4th, or hell, even 5th! Or so it was...
When the news was out that there would be a beauty pageant for 10 to 17 year olds the Apoplectic camp vs the Giddy With Excitement camp locked horns, debating and arguing, but when the big night finally came - the intrigue and curiosity value won out. The girls and their happily proud families had a blast and it was a wonderfully fun night all round!
It kicked off with some special entertainment...
then the judging began...
but this was the bit they were all waiting for...
and the big winners of the night: Mandy Madden and Justine Groen!
Mandy will go on to represent New Zealand at the Miss Global Teen in South America next year.
