Purrfection at the Cat Show

The Auckland Cat Club held their Pedigreed Cats and Kittens show in April this year, with cats from across the country vying for the coveted rosettes and Best In Show awards.

The judging criteria is strict and awards are not given lightly, but, whether winners or losers, everyone loves their cats, and the cats sure love the attention!

Judge Paul Henry with what must surely be the largest cats in the world - a Norwegian Forest Cat, and a Maine Coon

Paul is adding to his judging repertoire so he is able to judge in more categories. The judges specialise in either long or short hair, cats or kittens and it can take many years to gain the necessary expertise to become a judge.

For some cats, waiting for the results can be a little tense...

 while others just can't contain their excitement..

others like to take it in their stride...

but when the results are finally in, there are smiles all round...
